The company was organized in Selma, Dallas Co., Ala., in 1895. Ernest Lamar provided the original impetus on April 24 of that year, by making an informal proposal to a group of Selma investors. They then elected W.R. Nelson as Chairman of the investors, F.M. Stillwell as Secretary, and Ernest Lamar as head of the feasibility committee, and M.A. Keith and M.J.
